The song has been picturised on Anushka, who plays a 1960s jazz singer named Rosie Noronha. In fact, it is by singing “Jaata kahaan hain diwane” that Rosie gets noticed as a singer in a club and becomes the marquee performer at Johnny Balraj’s (played by Ranbir Kapoor) Bombay Velvet.

The film, a large screen adaptation of Gyan Prakash’s “Mumbai Fables”, also features Vivaan Shah, Karan Johar, Raveena Tandon and Kay Kay Menon.
