Anupam Kher opens up about love story with Kirron Kher: ‘I was ditched by a girl, she was having a tough time in her marriage’

Their marriage was a beautiful culmination of a decade-long friendship. Revealing how he and Kirron fell in love after being “best of friends” for over a decade, at a time when both of them were with their respective partners. Anupam shared, “We were best of friends for ten years before that… She was married and I was ditched by a girl after three years of relationship with her and she (Kirron) was going through a tough time in her marriage. How that friendship turned into love and love turned into marriage that’s a story.”

Anupam and Kirron tied the knot on August 26, 1985. Kirron, an accomplished actress and politician, brought her son Sikandar Kher from her previous marriage into their family. Today, they are considered one of Bollywood’s most enduring couples, with a marriage spanning over 39 years. Anupam, a veteran actor with over 540 films under his belt, and Kirron, a two-time National Film Award winner, continue to inspire fans with their love and commitment to each other.
