Anshula Kapoor blamed herself for divorce of her parents Boney Kapoor and Mona Shourie: ‘The feeling became more apparent after Janhvi Kapoor was born’

Anshula Kapoor clarified that both her parents explained to her that she was never the reason behind their separation, but yet it affected her. “I do not believe that anymore. But, it was a child trying to figure out what went wrong and thinking maybe I only went wrong. You can’t predict what effects someone psychologically. Especially when you are so young, how you process things are completely different.”

‘Who knows maybe I heard some conversation with some aunty or friend’

Anshula shared that her theories could have been a result of the conversations that she overheard. She said, “Who knows maybe I heard some conversation with some aunty or friend. I may have heard some random words from their conversation and cooked something entirely different in my head. That was one part of my trauma I had to deal with. I have addressed this with my siblings, family and parents.”

Previously, talking to Hautterfly, Anshula Kapoor had shared how she had to go through public scrutiny when her parents decided to part ways. She said, “People started to talk about my family values, my upbringing, etc. I resigned into my own shell, and was trying to figure out what this new normal was all about.”

Boney Kapoor married Mona Shourie in 1983. They welcomed a son, Arjun Kapoor and a daughter, Anshula Kapoor. In 1996, the couple parted ways. In the same year, Boney Kapoor married Sridevi. In 1997, they welcomed their first child, a daughter, Janhvi Kapoor. A few years later, they welcomed their second daughter Khushi Kapoor.

Anshula, who usually stays away from the limelight, recently appeared on the Amazon Prime Video show, The Traitors.
