Amitabh Bachchan’s granddaughter Navya Navelli, daughter of Shweta Nanda, has been spotted quite a few times. The teenager is quite the beauty with her mother’s height and the lustrous locks of a desi girl. Studying at the prestigious London Oaks School, Navya has always stayed away from the spotlight until now.
Navya Naveli Nanda will soon make a glamourous high society debut at Parisian Le Bal des Débutantes, where not only will she be dressed in a stunning haute couture gown, but also have her hair and makeup done by a French artist, wear sky-high heels and dance gracefully.
In a behind-the-scenes video posted on YouTube by news agency AFP, Navya Navelli shares her excitement in preparation for the grand event. “I have never done anything like this before so I’m very very nervous but very excited,” she says. “I’m going to be taking dance lessons so that my dancing is upto the mark and also I will be going through fittings to make sure my dresses are fine and also practicing walking in heels because that’s no unusual thing for me. I’ll also walk around on heels in my bedroom to make sure that I don’t fall over,” she adds further.
Navya, who is also the great grand daughter of Raj Kapoor, is also shown getting her makeup done by a French artist who is determined to only mildly fix the little imperfections but is keen to preserve the youthful naturalness of the young beauty. Her mother, Shweta Nanda can also be seen paying close attention to her daughter’s beauty prep.
Navya Naveli Nanda is among 25 young women from around the world invited to the ball held which will be held on November 28 in Paris. Each girl gets one top couture designer to style her in a evening gown from their collection. Nayva was lucky to get Dior and she parades in the most gorgeous dresses in the video, some even fit for a princess.
When asked if granddad Amitabh Bachchan will make it to his granddaughter, Navya’s big night, Shweta said, “He’s so busy. He’s doing so many things, but they are the apples of his eye, his grandchildren, so we hope he’ll be able to make it and to see her in this way. It’s a first for all of us and we’re all very excited.”
