If all goes right, Amitabh Bachchan and Varun Dhawan will soon be seen together in Pradeep Sarkar’s Dabba Gul. To be produced under Yash Raj Films banner, the film will see Amitabh and Varun in leading roles. The film is said to be a slice-of-life feel-good film.
According to reports, Big B will be seen playing the role of a head of dabbawalas in Mumbai city, while Varun will play the role of an MBA topper, eager to learn the functioning of the dabbawalas and in turn, signs up for a two-month internship.
‘Dignity of labour’ is what is said to be the underlining factor of the film and the humour in it will be designed on the lines of Munnabhai. Big B or Varun are still to confirm the reports.
Amitabh got immense praise for his recent release Pink. The film is an Indian courtroom drama directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury and produced by Rashmi Sharma and Shoojit Sircar. It stars Amitabh, Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari, Angad Bedi, Andrea Tariang, Piyush Mishra, and Dhritiman Chatterjee in major roles.
Big B will be next seen in another Yash Raj banner film, Thugs Of Hindostan alongside the industry’s Mr Perfectionist, Aamir Khan. Varun, on the other hand, is currently shooting for Badrinath Ki Dulhania opposite Alia Bhatt. He was last seen in Dishoom with John Abraham.
If all goes well, this will be first time we will get to see Big B and Varun sharing the screen. Though, with Varun’s father and director David Dhawan, Amitabh gave us two films — Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Hum Kisise Kum Nahi.
