Amitabh Bachchan stopped me from touching his feet, recalls Jawan actor Lehar Khan: ‘He said girls don’t…’

Jawan is on its way to becoming the biggest Hindi film of the year and the cast of the movie is over the moon celebrating their big success. For Lehar Khan, who plays Kalki in the film, this is even more special as she got to taste some success in Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra as well. In Brahmastra, Lehar played one of the recruits in Amitabh Bachchan’s school of superheroes. In a recent interview, Lehar recalled how she went ahead and touched Big B’s feet when she met him for the first time but the actor stopped her.

Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, Lehar said, “It’s every actor’s dream to meet and touch Amitabh Bachchan’s feet and get into it (the film industry). That was the first thing I did too but he told me, ‘Nahi nahi. Ladkiyan paer nahi chooti’ (No no. Girls don’t touch feet). I was like, ‘Sir, please allow me. As an actor, let me get into it.'”

Lehar recalled the time she spent on Ayan Mukerji’s film set and said that the opportunity to work with Amitabh and spending time with him was very “memorable” for her. The Jawan actor recalled that sometimes she would just be standing around and smiling looking at the set, and Big B would compliment her smile.

“Like I would just be standing and smiling looking at the set. Out of nowhere, he would come and say, ‘Mohatarma, aapki muskaan toh matlab…’ All these memories are forever for me. I hope I get to work with him again,” she said.

In Jawan, Kalki plays the daughter of a farmer who is pushed to the point of suicide because of unfair money lending schemes. Her backstory is revealed during the film’s first heist sequence when SRK’s Azad holds a train hostage.
