Bollywood megstar Amitabh Bachchan was invited to present the prestigious Olive Crown Awards, Asia’s only green award for communication on planet earth held in Hotel Palladium, Parel, Mumbai.
The green awards were organized by International Advertising Association (IAA) for creative excellence in communicating sustainability.
Big B spoke about our responsibility towards our planet and the need for sustainable growth. “There is an urgent need to implement the resolutions of Kyoto Protocol and Copenhagen Summit,” he said.
“It is the poorest and least contributing countries in the world like our neighbour Bangladesh who are the worst sufferers of climatic changes created by excessive industrialization and carbon footprints by overambitious western economies, namely the US and European countries”.
He then concluded, “It is need of the hour that we all work towards sustainable growth which will survive through our planet and future generations.”
Mr. Prasoon Joshi and his O&M team received the Olive Crown Award, whereas Mrs. Maneka Gandhi won a special award for her contribution towards animal protection.
