With the release of Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan starrer Thugs of Hindostan looming large upon us, the makers have released yet another making video. In the behind-the-scenes video titled ‘Meet Firangi,’ we come to know how the makers, as well as Aamir, conceived the character of Firangi.

“The first time I heard the script, I really loved the character of Firangi, because he is a strange guy, he is not a very reliable person at all,” Aamir says at the beginning of the video.

“Fortunately, I don’t know anybody like Firangi. Perhaps there is a Firangi in all of us, secretly hidden inside us, so you kind of have to tap inside yourself to try and bring it out,” Aamir further elucidated on his character.

The camera then cuts to Amitabh Bachchan, who showers praise on Aamir, saying that Firangi is one of the actor’s best performance. “He has a dual personality. He is great fun, he is smart, he is intelligent and he has a difficult job of balancing two great powers…Aamir has done a brilliant job. I keep telling him that this is by far his most brilliant performance,” Big B is heard saying in the making video.

The video then shows the viewers how everyone helped bring Firangi alive. “When I started working on the character, I don’t know why but I instantly felt that he should have a nose pin, it was something that was very instinctive for me,” Aamir says in the video.

Adding that it is one of his most challenging roles till date, the actor says that he was dying to play Firangi ever since he first heard the script.

Thugs of Hindostan releases everywhere on November 8.
