Actor Ali Fazal has been roped in as the main lead for director-writer Pradeep Sarkar’s next titled Arranged Marriage. As per reports, Kajol and Patralekha also feature in the film.
Arranged Marriage is a unique modern day love story set in Kolkata. The film explores the relationships between the family and their involvement during the process of an arranged marriage. It’s a twisted tale between the couple and has its own complexities that Pradeep’s aims to beautifully explore on a larger canvas. The film’s cast and crew have begun filming in Kolkata.
Sharing his excitement about teaming up with Sarkar, Ali said in a statement, “Its the modern world, its 2018, it does touch upon some very essential phases of love, relationships, families that are involved in marriages and how important it is that where these families come from but I am very very excited to work with my co-actors. It’s an honor and privilege to work with a veteran director and writer Pradeep dada who has given such a powerful and meaningful cinema and has worked with some of the best talents of India cinema.”
Ali, who will also be seen in the web series Mirzapur, said it’s an honour and privilege for him to work with the filmmaker “who has given such powerful and meaningful cinema and has worked with some of the best talents of Indian cinema”.
In the teaser of Mirzapur, which was released recently, we got to see the character introduction of Ali, Guddu Pandit. He is gangster, ruthless and has his own set rules before killing a person. Actually, he thinks less, and kills more!
Mirzapur’s full trailer was launched on Tuesday giving a further insight into the Amazon Prime Video’s upcoming original web series. Shot around Varanasi, Mirzapur and Mumbai, this Excel Entertainment production chronicles the tale of a gangster who is into the business of weapons and ammunition.
Mirzapur also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Vikrant Massey, Divyendu Sharma, Shriya Pilgaonkar and Shweta Tripathi. The 9-episode series has been directed by Gurmmeet Singh and created by Karan Anshuman and Puneet Krishna. Mirzapur begins streaming from November 16.
