Alanna Panday and husband Ivor reveal renovation plans for new 5-bedroom California home; pictures inside

Alanna started the tour by saying, “The minute you walk into the house, we have this giant door. I was actually shocked to see how big this was. It’s so grand, and I love it. I am standing in our formal living room right now, which I will say is kind of like a sitting space for guests, because we do have a second living room, which is a family room. Ivor and I were discussing what we can do with this place, and I think we are going to keep it like a nice staged area.”

She then discussed what they plan to do with the hardwood floors that are spread across the house. “The entire house has this dark glossy floor, which we are going to be ripping out completely. That is actually the first step of the renovation, and we’re starting tomorrow. We always wanted to do a light oak floor. Another thing which we’re going to do is add check marble tiles.”

Alanna moved on to the dining room and expressed how much she has always wanted a huge dining room to share with her family and friends. She said, “I always wanted a big dining space. The best moments and memories happen in the dining room, when you’re having meals with your family. We finally have that. Until now we usually eat wherever it is convenient, but now we are going to be the ‘eat at the dining table’ kind of family.”

Ivor then explained how they were going to gut their entire kitchen and do an entire remodel because the current location of things, especially the stove and the sink, was not right. They both agreed on the fact that they wanted a panelled refrigerator so that no one could make out exactly where it was. There were certain disagreements, about things that are necessary and things that aren’t, but the couple seemed to be on the same page.

Then came the family room, which Alanna had been talking about since the start of the video. “I love this room. I love that this was perfectly in sync with the kitchen. We are the type of family that eats all our meals in the home. So if I was in the kitchen cooking, River could be hanging out here. This is going to be the opposite of the formal living room. It’s going to be super cosy and comfortable, with giant couches, so we can have family movie nights.

The couple then showed their fans the master bedroom, which was on the second floor of the house. The stairs had an inbuilt baby gate, and the bedroom had a personal fireplace and balcony in it. Ivor remarked that this room was three times their current bedroom, and then Alanna shared her plans for it.

After showing the bathroom, guest rooms, River’s room and the laundry room, Alanna and Ivor retired back to the ground floor and revealed that they were going to do more in-detail videos about their renovation plans.

Alanna is the sister of new breakout star Ahaan Panday, and the daughter of Chikki and Deanne Panday.
