Akshay Kumar has played numerous roles in the past and is all set surprise us with his all new avatar in Rustom. The actor will be seen playing the role of Navy officer Rustom Pavri, who is Parsi. The film is set in 50s and the actor was required to shoot his wedding scene with actress Ileana D’Cruz who plays Akshay’s wife in the film. For this Akshay wanted to dress right and get the feel of the era. As per reports, Akshay requested his personal assistant Zenobia Kohla to show him the wedding album of her parents. Zenobia also helped Akshay understand the Parsi way of life. After all the effort, Akshay and Ileana's wedding scene in Rustom was then shot for in authentic Parsi way. In fact, it is hard to differentiate between Akshay's image and that of Zenobia's parents. Akshay sports a clean-shaven look and is dressed like Zenobia's father Naval Kohla and Ileana was seen in a beautiful wedding attire like Zenobia's mother Perin Kohla. Well, this research is a true trait of a perfect actor. After giving fans a taste of patriotism at the start of the year with Airlift, Akshay will be seen donning a naval uniform in Rustom as he plays Commander Rustom Pavri. The plot of the film is based on the sensational Nanavati case of 1959 where a decorated naval officer was tried by a jury for killing his wife’s lover. The case changed India's judicial system and rocked society. The film, Rustom, also brings back the jodi of Akshay and director Neeraj Pandey, who is producing the film after the much-acclaimed Baby in 2015. Directed by debutant Tinu Suresh Desai, Rustom will clash in theatres with Hrithik Roshan, Pooja Hegde-starrer Mohenjo Daro.
