Akshay Kumar who completed 25 years of existence in Bollywood in January this year believes his success and rise to stardom is purely luck. The Khiladi actor feels had lady luck not been so generous on him, he wouldn’t have been as successful today.
When asked to describe his 25-year old journey in Bollywood, Akshay told Indian Express.com, Akshay said, ” It’s luck. In fact almost 60 to 70 percent is luck. I am very lucky that things have gone my way.” (Read: I have faced racism but never paid attention to it: Akshay Kumar)
For someone who does the maximum number of films in comparison to other superstars, Akshay also gives his own hard work due recognition but less precedence than his luck factor. “Yes worked hard. I have selected good films and bad films but the luck factor has always been there. When I enter a studio, I see there are lots of models standing outside who wants to come and get into this line. There are some who come with great photographs. When I look at their profiles and their faces I am like, ‘Wow what a good looking guy or girl. But he or she has been struggling since the last seven to ten years. Why? Is he not talented. He is. In fact he has all the ingredients to be a great actor. Then why is he still languishing. Believe it or not it is the luck factor that he doesn’t have. I have worked my a** off but luck plays a vital role in success. That is what I have seen,” reasoned Akshay.
