Ajay Devgn is set to return as Vijay Salgaonkar for the third and last film of the Hindi Drishyam franchise. The actor announced the final chapter – Drishyam The Conclusion on social media, on Monday. The upcoming film is set to release on October 2, this year, which is the exact date when the Salgaonkar family established a false alibi on the fateful night. After two successful instalments, fans will finally witness how Vijay’s story comes to an end, on ‘Drishyam Day’. The Gandhi Jayanti public holiday and long weekend will also help increase theatre footfalls.

While revealing the first poster of Drishyam The Conclusion on his Instagram handle, Ajay Devgn wrote in the caption, “Har insaan ka nazariya alag hota hai… mere liye meri family hi sab kuch hai. #DrishyamTheConclusion in cinemas 2nd October.” The poster featured the line, “Mera Sach, Mera Sahi, Sirf Meri Family Hai” (My truth, my right, only my family hai).”

The first-look teaser of Drishyam 3, which was unveiled around 8 months ago, had already hinted at the story ahead. In the video, Ajay’s voiceover said, “The world calls me by many names – criminal, murderer, deceitful, cunning, fraud, hero, innocent, father, and mastermind. But it doesn’t matter to me. Because I understood one thing from whatever happened, whatever I did, saw, or showed in the past seven years: In this world, every person’s truth is different, as are their rights. My truth and right are my family. As long as things don’t stop, as long as others don’t fail, I will stand here, like a gatekeeper and a wall.”

In the first part Drishyam, on October 2, Vijay Salgaonkar and his family meticulously claimed they traveled to Panaji to attend a spiritual retreat, ate pav bhaji at a restaurant, watched a film, and stayed overnight to cover up an accidental killing.
