Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s blue gown on the red carpet of the ongoing Cannes film festival was the opening statement. Later in the day, she dazzled in a pink gown, and this time, it was her daughter Aaradhya who stole the show. Aishwarya attended a dinner hosted by L’Oreal Paris with her daughter Aaradhya, who was dressed in a magnificent red gown at the event.
Aishwarya and Aaradhya’s moment at Cannes
Aishwarya’s gown itself was an exquisite garment. Pink silk, floor-length, with ruching across the body and glossy floral accents that gave it texture without weight. The silhouette was shaped at the waist before opening into a flowing skirt with a saree-inspired drape. A sheer cape fell from the shoulders to the floor, held in place by an embellished brooch at the front. The overall effect was formal without being stiff, and dramatic without reaching for the obvious.
She kept jewellery to a single large diamond ring, letting the gown carry the work. Her makeup was warm and precise, bronzed skin, a sculpted face, smoky eyes and a pink satin lip. Her hair was worn down in soft curls that framed her face and moved with her as she walked.

Aaradhya steps into the frame
The more significant moment of the evening, at least for the people watching from home, was not Aishwarya’s look. It was Aaradhya’s.
A familiar face at Cannes, she has accompanied her mother to the festival for several years now, and she dressed for it. A red silk ball gown with a dupatta-style cape, in what read clearly as a younger, complementary echo of her mother’s pink ensemble. The dupatta detail in particular suggested a deliberate coordination. Her makeup was minimal: glossy lips, clean skin, hair worn straight. She looked, by any reasonable measure, like someone who knew exactly what the occasion required. The duo attended Lights On Women’s Worth at the Cannes Film Festival before stepping in for the dinner.
Aaradhya was understandably a little shy as the cameras found her and her mother leaving the hotel. She stayed close to Aishwarya throughout, who kept a hand near her daughter and made sure the attention, which was considerable, did not become overwhelming. When fans waved and called out for Aishwarya, Aaradhya was seen smiling.
