After delivering riveting films like Special 26 and Aiyaary, actor-director duo Manoj Bajpayee and Neeraj Pandey have something exiting coming up soon. While the two of them have not worked on a film together for over five years now, they are expected to announce a collaboration in the near future. The director recently shared that he’s been craving for an opportunity to direct Manoj Bajpayee and that he will be finally getting on to it.

Without revealing too much information, Neeraj told indianexpress.com that they are planning something. Sharing that Manoj’s busy schedule has kept their collaboration on hold for way too long, he said, “Manoj just doesn’t have time these days. We both are going to be doing something together very soon. It is a secret, let it happen and then we’ll talk about it.”

“I feel blessed. You want to surround yourself with people who are intelligent and being with Manoj is always that for me, there’s no actor like him. So yes, we’ve been trying to do something together for some time now and soon we should finally be able to do it,” he added.

While the two of them have not done a movie together, they have been associated on the “Secrets” documentaries series on discovery+. Manoj and Neeraj are bringing back their docu-series franchise for a third chapter releasing on discovery+ on January 22. They have earlier worked on the first two installments of the series — Secrets of Sinauli and Secrets of the Kohinoor.

Talking about the documentary, Raghav Jairath shared how he approached the topic. He said, “I look at it from a story point of view always. There are times when you turn stories into films you don’t know where it’ll go, but you are just very true to the story of it and it takes its own course. Every story has its own journey and how it picks up and people respond to it. In the same way, in a documentary also, it’s the story that got us interested, we were excited about the story, about the last few months of Buddha’s life. The genesis is always about the truth in the story and we’ve stayed true to the story that not many people know about this part of Buddha’s life.”

On the work front Neeraj’s Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha with Ajay Devgn, Tabu, and Jimmy Shergill is scheduled to release in theatres on April 26.
