Kangana Ranaut in ‘Once upon a Time in Mumbaai’ and Vidya Balan in ‘The Dirty Picture’, both actresses had undergone tremendous makeover for the films. All thanks to filmmaker Milan Luthria.
This time, it’s none other than the ‘Gabbar’ actress Shruti Haasan who will undergo makeover for Luthria’s most challenging film ‘Baadshaho’, in which she will be see opposite ‘Drishyam’ actor Ajay Devgn.
Without revealing much, director Milan Luthria said, “I feel that the work Shruti and I are planning to do together both in prep as well as on set will showcase her in a very different light, much as it happened with Kangna in Once and Vidya in TDP. She has a tremendous aura around her, which if caught right on screen, will surprise many.”
Luthria, who seems awe struck by Shruti’s skills further added, “I was looking for a fresh pairing for Ajay, and in Shruti I felt there is an abundance of talent and glamour which has been very successfully exploited in the south, where she is doing all the big budget films. I always like working with actresses who haven’t really been given their due but have heaps of potential. In the limited work she has done here, she has achieved critical acclaim in films like D DAY, and commercial success in films like GABBAR. But i instinctively feel there’s a lot more to explore and discover in her.”
The movie, which is an emotional drama, will have two leading ladies. Shruti Haasan has been finalised to play one of the roles until now. The actress is taking look tests and is busy preparing herself to get under the skin of the character which she will be portraying on screen.
