Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Fawad Khan are here with Ae Dil Hai Mushkil trailer and this time the third angle of this triangle has been revealed — friendship. If Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’s title track introduced us to unrequited love the way only Karan Johar can, its second song Bulleya dropped us in a vat of passion and coated us in love. Aishwarya and Ranbir were passion personified.

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil trailer carries the story forward but raises a question, what aces in your life — love or friendship?

Anushka Sharma roots for friendship with Ranbir and then goes ahead and falls in love with the bearded-and-buff Fawad Khan. Ranbir is heartbroken and then he finds the ethereal Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. She is a poetess and a femme fatale. He is smitten, so are we.

As we watch ADHM’s trailer, the film’s songs Cutipie and Bulleya play in the background. The city’s neon lights, the warm colours of a typical Karan Johar film set and fabulously dressed characters, this reminds us the director is back in his favourite territory — love, heartbreak and beautiful people.

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil will clash with Ajay Devgn’s much-awaited directorial venture Shivaay which also releases on October 28. The two Diwali releases are both big-budget films and have been creating controversies months before the actual clash happens. Ajay Devgn had claimed Karan had paid Kamaal R Khan to play up his film and slam Shivaay. Karan refused comment on the issue and KRK claimed no one had paid him.
