The brief yet impactful collaboration between director Karan Johar and music composer duo Jatin-Lalit left an indelible mark on the Hindi film industry, shaping the musical tastes of an entire generation. Their collaboration began with Karan’s directorial debut, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, and concluded with his second film, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. In a recent conversation, Lalit Pandit reflected on their work for Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and shared an intriguing anecdote about the song “Ladki Badi Anjani Hai.”
Lalit Pandit explained that they faced challenges while working on the song, and Aditya Chopra had to step in to help them finish it. Speaking on YouTube channel Rajshri Unplugged, Lalit Pandit said, “The most difficult song, where we were stuck a little was Ladki Badi Anjani Hai. All the songs of the film were being recorded and shot in Mumbai, but Ladki Badi Anjani Hai had to be shot in Ooty. So the whole crew, including the children and the whole entourage of technicians, were going to Ooty.”
