It’s very rare to see an actor pass a genuine compliment to a fellow star, as they are usually competing for the same jobs. But sometimes they do, and it makes for great conversation, as it comes from a very honest place. Something similar took place recently, as actor Piyush Mishra complimented his co-star Ranbir Kapoor for his skill as an actor and for also not taking his stardom too seriously.

In an interaction with Lallantop, Piyush was asked about his experience of working with Ranbir in films like Imitiaz Ali’s Rockstar and Tamasha. The actor lauded Ranbir for his sincerity and said, “Arre, don’t even ask, that guy is something else. Itna nanga besharam aadmi maine aaj tak nahi dekha (I have never seen someone so unbothered and free). He comes from such a long, long legacy – his father, his grandfather, his great-grandfather, all the way back to Prithviraj Kapoor. But none of that burdens him. Not even 1%.”

During a separate interview with Curly Tales, Piyush Mishra had Ranbir Kapoor and said, “Ranbir ghazab hai. He doesn’t have any tantrums despite knowing he’s such a big star. He has no hang-ups. He is my favourite actor.”

This isn’t the first time Ranbir has been appreciated by a co-star. Actor Ajinkya Deo also lauded the actor and said that he was unlike anyone else he had worked with. “RK made me feel so comfortable. He would say, ‘Sir, beautiful shot, yaar.’ I loved it. When someone encourages you like that… He even said, ‘Sir, aap lagte nahi ho yaar, where do you work out?’ I told him, ‘Boss, thank you, thank you, RK. Look at you and look at me.’ That’s life. But he was so pure at heart—no filters, no layers,” said Deo during a conversation with Varinder Chawla’s team.

Ranbir Kapoor will next be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love and War, also starring Vicky Kaushal and Alia Bhatt.
