Abhimanyu Singh slams industry for remaking South films while ignoring real talent, good stories: ‘Kya dimaag ghaas charne chala gaya hai’

Talking about star kids getting multiple opportunities to prove themselves, he said, “You have to focus on your work. In terms of deserving and non-deserving, this world isn’t a fair place, everybody doesn’t get their due. But I will agree that talent should be brought forth. We have a lot of talent in the film industry, but it isn’t reaching the correct place. We have talented writers sitting at tea stalls.”

He added, “Producers are waiting for talented people and talented people aren’t able to reach them. We have to build a structure so that this gap is filled. Somewhere it is wrong, because if the film industry has so many talented people, why aren’t they able to reach heights? Why are we needing to remake South films? Kya dimaag ghaas charne chala gaya hai? We can’t write a story?”

Recently, Saif Ali Khan’s son Ibrahim Ali Khan made his debut with Karan Johar’s Naadaaniyan, which received poor reviews from critics and the audience. The film also starred Khushi Kapoor, who made her debut with Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies, which received mixed reviews, and later went on to star in Loveyapa, which was a box office disaster. Ajay Devgn’s nephew Aaman Devgan also made an unremarkable entry into Bollywood with Azaad.
