Singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya continues to make headlines with his pointed comments about colleagues in the film industry. Recently, in an interview with Bollywood Thikana, Abhijeet expressed his disappointment about actor Ranbir Kapoor being invited to Ayodhya for Ram Mandir’s inauguration. The singer also called Ranbir-starrer Besharam ‘a super flop film.’ Abhijeet and Shreya Ghosal had crooned the song “Dil Ka Jo Haal Hai” in the movie.

Talking about Besharam song Dil Ka Jo Haal Hai, Abhijeet said, “Thank God, I am not a singer of this era. I sang a song, Dil Ka Jo Haal Hai, in a super flop film. The song wasn’t a hit. No one knows about the song’s film. However, if you play the song, you would know who sang it.”

He added, “Even if the floppiest song plays, people would know whose song it is, and not the hero or film attached to it. The property belongs to the music company. They have the rights and we don’t get royalty. However, everyone has ears and the voice that goes to the ear and heart is mine.”

The singer also expressed his views on Ranbir Kapoor being invited to the Ram Mandir inauguration. Without taking the actor’s name directly, he said, “When Ram Mandir was inaugurated, a person who eats beef (Ranbir Kapoor) was invited, aur aap Gau Mata karahe hain.”

The 2013 film Besharam, directed by Abhinav Kashyap, starred Ranbir Kapoor and Pallavi Sharda in the lead roles. It also featured Rishi Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor and Javed Jeffrey. It opened to largely negative reviews and was a major box office failure.
