Kiran Rao finally admits son Azad has outgrown her in height.

Filmmaker and producer Kiran Rao often showcases not just her professional but also personal life on her Instagram time and again. Be it some family and friends gettogethers or her fun moments with her and Aamir Khan’s son Azad, Kiran Rao has been sharing it all. And in the recent set of photos, the happy mom admitted that her kid is now ‘a little bit taller’ than her.

Azad Rao Khan is the son of actor Aamir Khan and filmmaker Kiran Rao. He was born in 2011, and while his parents separated in 2021, they continue to co-parent him.

Kiran shared then-and-now pictures of Azad and captioned it, “Ok fine, I concede that Azad’s a *little* bit taller than me now. He didn’t need to flatten my hair to prove it. 🙄🥰 the second picture is from a few years ago – thanks @hinabi for the memory… ♥️.”

InAugust, Kiran Rao shared a post on her social media which had a series of mirror selfies of herself and the last one was a pic with Azad. The post caption read, “My apartment landing and the building elevators have better mirrors than any in my house, I’m not ashamed to admit. I use them sometimes to quickly check how I’m looking as I head out, which has resulted in these unfiltered pictures, a series that I’m titling Landing Looks. 🤓 mostly a plethora of bad hair days, but the last one is actually ‘bed head’ (first thing in the morning), a photo just to document how Azad is now taller than me.”

Kiran Rao has been open about the challenges of raising a child in today’s digital age, particularly with her 13-year-old son, Azad. In an earlier interview with Filmfare, she shared that while Azad isn’t active on social media yet, he does spend time on YouTube and enjoys playing online multiplayer games where he interacts with other players. Kiran also expressed her concerns about the possible risks and negative influences of the online world.

On a podcast hosted by Aamir Khan’s daughter Ira Khan, Kiran recounting a sweet moment with her son, Azad. She described how, while they were watching something on TV, she struggled to follow the fast-paced visuals, but Azad quickly grasped everything and even explained them to her.

Kiran also opened up about how she wants Azad to indulge in offline experiences like reading books and playing outdoor games as she sincerely feels that they have been overshadowed by screens.

Kiran Rao and Aamir Khan got married in 2005 and welcomed their son, Azaad, via surrogacy in 2011. The couple parted ways in 2021 but have maintained a warm and respectful relationship, continuing to co-parent their son together. Meanwhile, Aamir Khan has found love again with his current girlfriend, Gauri Spratt.
