In the past few weeks, Aamir Khan has been a hot topic of discussion among the twitterati, not for any movie or his TV show ‘Satyamev Jayate’, but because of his tears. He cried while he watched his friend and superstar Salman Khan starrer ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ and later, when he watched his nephew Imran Khan’s ‘Katti Batti’, also starring Kangana Ranaut.
Aamir Khan was a trending topic on Twitter for many hours, but the memes on himself don’t seem to bother the superstar much. He opines he is an emotional person, and that he isn’t afraid to show it.
In a report published in Hindustan Times, Aamir said, “Why should I hide what kind of a person I am… I’m a highly emotional person and I’m not afraid to show it.”
He further said, “I read all the jokes on Twitter. I was reading them and laughing. I don’t remember the jokes now, but there were some really good ones. I quite enjoyed all the attention.”
The brown towel that he used to wipe his tears was another topic to ponder over for the twitterati and the actor could have done with a handkerchief too. But Aamir says, “When I started watching the film, I didn’t have a towel or anything. But I got very emotional in the second half, so I asked my boy to get me something, and he got me that.”
While Salman Khan’s ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ has made many a people cry, but Kangana, Imran’s ‘Katti Batti’ is yet to hit the theatres. So, what exactly is the movie about that Aamir could help but get emotional. He says, “It’s an extremely emotional and moving story about the beliefs one has in love and the extent to which one goes for those beliefs. It reminded me of moments from my own life. I am an obsessive kind of an emotional … I am a sucker for Mills & Boon stories. The film reminded me of moments that I have been through that were highly romantic, intense and obsessive.”
Whether he is talking about his first wife Reena or current wife Kiran Rao, is still unknown, the tears by Aamir Khan has surely made him earn the tag of an emotional actor, along with ‘Pefectionist’, and to ‘Katti Batti’, some more audience. Just saying.
