Seat-sharing talks with Congress were cordial, says DMK’s Stalin

Ghulam Nabi Azad's visit comes in the wake of several unsuccessful attempts of the DMK to woo DMDK to its camp.

Senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad on Friday met DMK Chief M Karunanidhi on Friday to finalise the talks on seat sharing for the May 16 Tamil Nadu Assembly election.

Commenting on the outcome of the talks, Azad said, “Seat-sharing was discussed. Numbers have not been finalised yet. We’ve given some time to DMK, we’ll also discuss among ourselves.”

Meanwhile, DMK leader MK Stalin said Congress leaders will discuss with their leadership and get back to us.

“We discussed seat sharing with Congress,they put forth certain demands,discussions were cordial,” said Stalin.

Congress had only last month announced that it will contest Tamil Nadu election in alliance with the DMK.
