PTI image) The University Grants Commission (UGC) has instructed all higher education institutions (HEIs) to arrange special assemblies from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm to broadcast the landing of the Chandrayaan 3.
Calling the landing of the Chandrayaan 3 a significant step forward for Indian Science, Engineering, Technology, and Industry, the Commission added that “the landing of India’s Chandrayaan 3 is a monumental occasion that will not only fuel curiosity but also spark a passion for exploration within the minds of our youth. It will generate a profound sense of pride and unity as we collectively celebrate the prowess of Indian science and technology. It will contribute to fostering an environment of scientific inquiry and innovation. The Hon’ble Prime Minister of India will also join the Nation in witnessing this momentous occasion,” UGC said in a notice.
Chandrayaan 3 landing to take place on August 23
As per the information provided by the Commission, the event will be broadcasted live on August 23, starting from 5:27 pm (IST). The live coverage will be available via multiple platforms, including the ISRO website — isro.gov.in –, ISRO’s official YouTube channel, Facebook page — facebook.com/ISRO — and DD National TV channel.
The ISRO spacecraft is expected to land on the lunar surface at approximately 18.04 hours IST.
