The Tamil Nadu government is planning to set up coaching academies across the state for candidates who wish to appear for the civil service examinations. State education minister K A Sengottaiyan announced the same on Sunday in Erode.
“To help those appearing for Indian Administrative Service (IAS) or Indian Police service (IPS) examinations, the state education department will soon start coaching academies in all the 32 districts,” said Sengottaiyan at a function near Thindal village.
He added that aspirants from poor and middle class backgrounds will benefit the most from this initiative as it will give the a means to practice for, clear and secure good ranks in these examinations which are conducted annually organisations like the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) or the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC).
The TNPSC recently conducted the Combined Civil Services Examination notification 2017 for group 2 A employee recruitment. As many as 1953 vacancies were released for 41 sectors. The written test was held on August 6.
This year, the UPSC is conducting the civil service exams from October 28 to November 2, 2017. The examination was previously held on June 18, 2017. Candidates who are appearing for the exam should note that the admit cards are available for download on the official website (upsc.gov.in).
