Tamil Nadu CM inaugurates IIT Madras initiative, to connect 1 lakh students to Electronic Sciences
IIT Madras' Anaivarukkum IITM vision is to include scientific and technological fervour in young students, studying in rural Tamil Nadu, which is also the need of the country. This initiative is also aimed for creative and innovative thinking relevant to societal issues.
TN CM, while addressing the event said, 'I am happy to announce an important new scheme called ‘Thiranari Thervu Thittam’ during this event. The objective is to encourage and help Tamil Nadu Government schools students to continue their higher education without hurdles.” (Source: IIT Madras)

The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, M K Stalin, Wednesday inaugurated the Indian Institute of Technology Madras’ (IIT-M) initiative which connects one lakh government school students to electronic devices. The CM also distributed electronic kits to the government school students which were developed by IIT Madras.
The event was also attended by Tamil Nadu School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, IIT Madras Director Prof V Kamakoti.
This outreach programme on STEM, which is part of the ‘Anaivarukkum IITM’ (IITM for all) initiative, aims to connect one lakh rural Tamil Nadu students.
TN CM, while addressing the event said, “I am happy to announce an important new scheme called ‘Thiranari Thervu Thittam’ during this event. The objective is to encourage and help Tamil Nadu Government schools students to continue their higher education without hurdles.”
He further added that one thousand students studying in Class 10 will be chosen for this scheme and guidance will be provided to them by connecting them to higher institutions.
Tamil Nadu School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh thanked the state CM for allowing government school students to learn from a reputed institute like IIT Madras. He said, “I thank the Hon’ble Chief Minister Thiru MK Stalin for enabling Government School students to learn from a prestigious institute like IIT Madras…Each one of these kits will enable students to perform multiple experiments.”
