University of East Anglia offering multiple scholarships for Indian students

University of East Anglia is offering scholarship opportunities for Indian students across multiple programmes. The scholarships will cover the tuition fees, accommodation, and living expenses of the entire academic programme.

These scholarships are open to both undergraduate and postgraduate applicants for the academic year 2024-2025. Candidates interested can view scholarships details and apply at the official website of the university – uea.ac.uk.

The different scholarships offered by the University of East Anglia for the Indian applicants are:

— UEA India Award: The UEA India Award is a prestigious scholarship valued at £4,000, exclusively for Indian postgraduate students. It will be granted automatically to those who meet the entry requirements under the UEA India Award programme. This scholarship will cover tuition fees for eligible programmes across schools including Economics, Faculty of Humanities, Engineering, Chemistry, Art, Media and American Studies, Music, Law, and more.

To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be citizens of India or residing here at the time of application. Additionally, they ought to have received either a conditional or unconditional offer for a postgraduate programme at UEA. The value of the award is substantial, at £4,000 for meeting UEA entry criteria, £5,000 for achieving a final undergraduate grade of 65 per cent or higher, and an extra £5,000 for an LLB score of 60 per cent or above. 

UEA India Undergraduate Scholarship: This scholarship programme will extend support to high achieving Indian students by directly acknowledging and rewarding their accomplishments. An Indian national or resident to have received a conditional or unconditional offer for a full-time bachelor’s degree at the University of East Anglia will receive a £4,000 reduction in tuition fees for first year. 

The Global Undergraduate Excellence Scholarship: This scholarship honours and assists outstanding international students who have secured an offer to pursue their undergraduate studies at UEA. The primary aim of this scholarship is to offer financial assistance to overseas students embarking on their undergraduate journey at the university. With an annual grant of £4,000, it covers up to three years of undergraduate study where exceptional applications are considered for a £10,000 yearly award.

 — The Sonny and Gita Mehta India Scholarship: This scholarship supports talented Indian writers to enable them to undertake study in UEA’s prestigious Department of Literature, Drama, and Creative Writing. This scholarship is valued at  £28,500 and requires applicants to submit a separate application.

 — The David Sainsbury Full MSc Scholarship: The David Sainsbury Full MSc Scholarship will be offered to a restricted number of candidates applying for the MSc in Global Plant Health. This scholarship will encompass the entire tuition fee (£31,500), includes a maintenance grant, and provides an extra £4,000 to cover travel expenses.

All the mentioned scholarships are unique and cannot be combined with any other scholarship by the University. Each scholarship has specific deadlines and for more details of scholarships, candidates need to visit their respective websites. The candidates are encouraged to apply as early as possible.
