SSC GD Constable Vacancy 2026: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the tentative vacancy list for the SSC GD Constable Exam 2026. Candidates aspiring to apply for Constable (GD) positions in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), SSF, and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles can check the vacancies on the official SSC website, ssc.gov.in.

As per the notification, a total of 25,487 vacancies will be filled, including 616 posts for BSF, 14,595 for CISF, 5,490 for CRPF, 1,764 for SSB, 1,293 for ITBP, 1,706 for Assam Rifles, and 23 for SSF. The commission has also released a state-wise break-up of the posts. The application for the SSC GD Constable exam is also open till December 31.

Candidates can make the online fee payment until January 1, 2026. A correction window will be available from January 8 to January 10, 2026, for any necessary modifications. To be eligible, applicants must have passed the Matriculation or Class 10 examination from a recognised Board or University on or before the cut-off date, January 1, 2026.

SSC GD Constable 2026 Notification: Eligibility

Candidates applying for SSC GD recruitment must be citizens of India. Since vacancies in CAPFs and Assam Rifles are allocated on a State/UT/area-wise basis, applicants are required to submit a domicile certificate or Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC) corresponding to their state or Union Territory of residence.

Age Limit

For age eligibility, the crucial date for reckoning is January 1, 2026, in line with the provisions of DoP&T OM No. 14017/70/87-Estt. (RR) dated July 14, 1988. Accordingly, candidates must be between 18 and 23 years of age as on January 1, 2026—that is, born not earlier than January 2, 2003 and not later than January 1, 2008.

SSC GD Constable 2026 Notification: Pay Scale

All posts under the SSC GD recruitment carry a pay scale at Pay Level–3, ranging from Rs 21,700 to Rs 69,100.

The SSC GD selection process involves several stages to ensure a fair and comprehensive evaluation of candidates. It begins with a Computer-Based Examination (CBE), followed by the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST). Shortlisted candidates must then undergo a Detailed Medical Examination (DME) and Document Verification.
