SSC GD Constable 2026 Recruitment: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the notification for Constable (General Duty) recruitment in CAPFs, SSF, and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles for the 2026 examination cycle. The Commission has also started the registration process at the official website — ssc.gov.in.
The online application process commenced on December 1, 2025, and will remain open until December 31, 2025, till 11 pm. Candidates can pay the examination fee online until January 1, 2026.

The recruitment drive offers 25,487 vacancies across multiple forces, including the Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Assam Rifles, and the Secretariat Security Force (SSF).

Of the total posts, 23,467 are designated for male candidates and 2,020 for female candidates. SSC has noted that these figures are provisional and may be revised depending on the requirements of the participating forces.
Candidates applying for SSC GD recruitment must be citizens of India. Since vacancies in CAPFs and Assam Rifles are allocated on a State/UT/area-wise basis, applicants are required to submit a domicile certificate or Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC) corresponding to their state or Union Territory of residence.
For age eligibility, the crucial date for reckoning is January 1, 2026, in line with the provisions of DoP&T OM No. 14017/70/87-Estt. (RR) dated July 14, 1988. Accordingly, candidates must be between 18 and 23 years of age as on January 1, 2026—that is, born not earlier than January 2, 2003 and not later than January 1, 2008.

The application fee for SSC GD recruitment has been fixed at Rs 100. However, women candidates, candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST), as well as eligible Ex-Servicemen, are exempted from paying the fee, in accordance with SSC’s reservation and fee relaxation policies.
The SSC GD selection process involves several stages to ensure a fair and comprehensive evaluation of candidates. It begins with a Computer-Based Examination (CBE), followed by the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST). Shortlisted candidates must then undergo a Detailed Medical Examination (DME) and Document Verification.
Only those who qualify at each stage will be considered for final selection, which is based on overall merit and medical fitness.
The Computer-Based Examination (CBE) for SSC GD recruitment will be conducted by the Commission in English, Hindi, and 13 regional languages, ensuring wider accessibility for candidates across the country. The regional languages include Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
All posts under the SSC GD recruitment carry a pay scale at Pay Level–3, ranging from Rs 21,700 to Rs 69,100.
