NIT Tiruchirappalli: NIRF rankings in engineering, overall in the past 5 years
The institute was granted Deemed University status and renamed as National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli in 2003, also it was declared as an institution of national importance under the National Institute of Technology Act 2007.
Last year, NIT Trichy was assigned to inspect all towers of Srirangam temple and submit report on its stability (Express Photo/Representative Image) The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Tiruchirappalli secured the fourth rank in the Architecture category of the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2023. However, it slipped one position in the engineering category, ranking 9th compared to 8th in 2022.
Despite the dip in engineering ranking, NIT Trichy improved its NIRF standing in 2023 for Architecture, Management, and Research and it retained its 21st position in the overall category, similar to the year before, that is 2022.
According to their website, NIT Trichy achieved the 24 rank for the India in QS World Ranking and 281st in the QS Asian University Ranking in 2023.
However, it was not listed in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings for global ranking and NIRF Innovation category ranking for domestic ranking.
