NIFT 2019: Registration begins, know how to apply at

NIFT 2019: Check application form, important dates, eligibility criteria, exam pattern, syllabus, etc for the National Institute of Fashion Technology entrance exam

The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) has released the schedule for the undergraduate and postgraduate entrance examination at NIFT offers admission in B Design, B.F.Tech, M Design and MFM programmes. The university will organise CAT (Creative Ability Test) and GAT (General Ability Test) to offer admission.

NIFT 2019: Important dates

October 22: Registration begins
December 28: Registration concludes at 11:59 pm
January 3, 2019: Last date with late fee
December 29 to January 3, 2019: Window to edit application form
January 10, 2019: Admit card release
January 20, 2019: Written entrance exam date
February/March, 2019: Result of the written test
February/March, 2019: Situation test/ GD/ interview
End of May/ June 2019: Result declaration

To apply, the candidate has to visit the official website and then create a login ID. Then they have to submit the details like education certificates etc and pay the exam fees. The admission will be done on the basis of merit list drawn as per the scores obtained by the candidates in SAT, GMAT, GRE exams.

For Bachelor programmes
Age: The age of the candidate should be 23 years as on October 1, 2018. There will be upper age limit relaxation of five years for the candidates of Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribe/ Person With Disability (PWD) subject to following qualifications:

Eligibility for Bachelor Programmes – Design – B.Des.
(Fashion Design / Leather Design / Accessory Design / Textile Design / Knitwear Design / Fashion Communication)

The candidate should have passed Class 12 or +2 level examination in the 10+2 pattern from any recognised Central/State Board of Secondary Examination.
General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London/Cambridge/Sri-Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level/ International Baccalaureate (IB).

Eligibility for Bachelor Programme – Technology
Bachelor of Fashion Technology (Apparel Production) (B.FTech.)

The eligibility criteria is the same of the B.Des. Moreover, those candidates who have got 3 or 4-years diploma in any branch of engineering from a recognised institute can also apply.

For Master Programmes :
Age – There is no age limit
Eligibility for Master Programme – Design
Undergraduate degree in any discipline from any recognised institute UG Diploma of minimum three years duration from NIFT / NID.

Eligibility for Master Programme – Management
M.F.M (Master of Fashion Management): UG degree or diploma of minimum three years duration from NIFT / NID.

Eligibility for Master Programme – Technology
M.F.Tech. (Master of Fashion Technology)
B.F.Tech. from NIFT
B.E / B.Tech. from any Institute / University recognised by law in India.
