NEET PG Admit Card 2026 Highlights: Hall tickets out, exam on Aug 30

The exact reporting time and entry-related instructions will be available on the candidate's admit card. Candidates should follow the reporting time mentioned on their individual hall ticket rather than relying on general examination timings. Reaching the centre well before the reporting deadline is important because entry procedures take time.

NEET PG continues to be conducted as a computer-based examination. Candidates will answer the questions on a computer at the allotted test centre rather than using a conventional paper answer sheet. The examination format and instructions displayed on the computer should be followed carefully throughout the test.

Another important change in the NEET PG 2026 examination is that the test is being conducted in a single shift. The change is aimed at ensuring a common examination window for candidates appearing for the postgraduate medical entrance test across different centres.

A major change introduced for NEET PG 2026 is the reduction in the number of questions. The examination will have 180 questions instead of the earlier 200-question format. Once the admit card link is activated, candidates can visit the official NBEMS website and open the NEET PG section. They will then have to select the admit card link and log in using the required credentials. After submitting the details, the hall ticket can be downloaded and printed for examination-day use.

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) will release the NEET PG 2026 admit card today as per the revised examination schedule. The test-day instructions should be given particular prominence:

1) Printout of the NEET PG admit card

2) Original and valid government-issued photo ID like Aadhaar card

3) Photograph, if specifically required as per the admit-card/test-day instructions

4) Any supporting medical documentation required for carrying medicines or medically necessary items.

A notice claiming that CGHS Wellness Centres will remain closed from August 27 to 31 because medical officers have been deployed for NEET-PG examination duty is fake. The Health Ministry has clarified that the notice is false and unauthorised and that CGHS Wellness Centres will continue to function.

The revised process provides candidates with test-city information well before the examination. The purpose is to give candidates sufficient time to plan travel and accommodation instead of waiting until the detailed admit card is issued before knowing the allotted examination city.

Candidates were required to indicate three preferred test states during the application process. The first preference had to be the state corresponding to the correspondence address, while the remaining preferences were selected from neighbouring states.

The 180 questions will be divided into five sections. Each section will contain 36 questions and candidates will get 42 minutes for each section. The sectional structure means the overall 210-minute examination is divided into five separate time windows.

Candidates should note that the test city intimation slip cannot be used as a substitute for the admit card. The city information is provided mainly to help candidates plan travel and accommodation, whereas the hall ticket contains the detailed examination-centre information and examination-day instructions.
