KCET Result 2026 Highlights: How to check KEA UGCET results when out?

Following complaints by parents, three individuals — faculty member Sudeheer D, second division clerk A Sarita, and attender Girija — were arrested under Sections 299 and 302 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. An FIR has been filed and the staff members have been suspended pending further action.

A probe into the April 23 incident — in which three KCET candidates were allegedly asked to remove their sacred thread (janeu) before entering the exam hall at Krupanidhi PU College, Bengaluru — has concluded that the college staff's actions were intentional, Bengaluru Urban Deputy Commissioner Jagadeesha G said on Monday. 

The probe committee has recommended that KEA debar Krupanidhi PU College from functioning as an examination centre in the future. It has also called for strict action against all staff found to be involved in the incident.

The 2025 KCET exams were conducted from April 15 to 17. The result was declared on May 24, around 5 weeks after the exams were held. As per this timeline, the KCET 2026 result should be out in a week. 

In 2024, a total of 3,49,653 students had registered for the exam. Out of these, 3,10,314 students had appeared. 

Harsha Karthikeya Vutukur had topped KCET 2024 (Engineering), followed by Manoj Sohan Gajula at second rank, Abhinav P J at third, Sanaa Tabassum at fourth and Animesh Singh Rathore at fifth.

It can be observed that KEA has been consistently trying to announce the KCET result as early as possible. This year's result is expected to be out soon on the official website. 

The Karnataka Examinations Authority had earlier directed candidates from CBSE, ISC, and other state boards to update their Class 12 marks through the dedicated KEA portal at cetonline.karnataka.gov.in for the KCET 2026 process. KEA had clarified that there is no provision to manually enter marks or submit physical copies of mark sheets. All updates must happen digitally through the portal only.

The provisional answer key was made available in late April for all the 16 paper sets for Physics, Biology, Mathematics and Chemistry. Students were also allowed to raise objections till April 30, 2026.

While most profiles were handled through automated data matching, unique or complex reservation cases required offline evaluation. KEA accommodated these special candidate cases via physical verification desks set up at respective PU colleges and the main KEA headquarters. 

Students will be able to download their marksheets from the official KEA websites at cetonline.karnataka.gov.in and karresults.nic.in.

Students can check their scores on the official website, cetonline.karnataka.gov.in. Over 3.3 lakh students registered for the Undergraduate Common Entrance Test this year.

KCET 2026 was held from April 22 to April 24, 2026. The Kannada language exam took place on April 22 and the Physics and chemistry tests were conducted on April 23. On April 24 maths and biology papers were held.

Departing from standard practice, the Karnataka government decided to separate engineering and medical admissions. Higher Education Minister MC Sudhakar announced that CET counselling will proceed independently to avoid major academic calendar delays caused by the recent national NEET paper leaks.

Last year, the KCET result was declared on May 24, 2025 by the state Higher Education Minister Dr. MC Sudhakar from the KEA office. Result was then made available on the official portals.

Critically, KEA had clarified that there is no provision to manually enter marks or submit physical copies of mark sheets. All updates must happen digitally through the portal only.

A student who secures an engineering seat in CET counselling and later qualifies for a medical programme through NEET can switch without any penalty. The vacated engineering seat will flow back into the pool and remain accessible to other candidates seeking an upgrade.

Full fee refunds have been assured for students moving from engineering to medical programmes, and private colleges have committed to reimbursing students who take over seats freed up by those who moved the other way.

Karnataka's decision mirrors moves already made by Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra, both of which have proceeded with engineering admissions independently, citing the cascading delays in the NEET timeline.

Candidates will be allowed to participate in three rounds of counselling covering engineering, medical, dental, and AYUSH admissions.The counselling for admissions to medical will be conducted once the NEET process is over.

The primary verification phase was managed digitally through secure system integrations using SATS (Student Achievement Tracking System) and Revenue Department (RD) data. This online method allowed KEA to securely cross-reference eligibility metrics without requiring manual paper submissions. 

In a major process shift, KEA completed the original document verification phase entirely before declaring the final results. The authority successfully processed, cross-verified, and prepared the records of 3 lakh candidates ahead of the seat allotment rounds

Students will be able to download their marksheets from the official KEA websites at cetonline.karnataka.gov.in and karresults.nic.in. 

Out of 3,30,787 candidates who had initially registered for the KCET 2025 examination, a total of 3,11,991 students actually appeared for the papers. From those candidates, 2,75,677 students successfully met the eligibility criteria for professional course admissions. 

The state Higher Education Minister Dr. MC Sudhakar officially declared the KCET 2025 results from the KEA office on May 24 last year. The exams took place between April 15 and 17. Students were able to access their scorecards through the official portal. 

Under the revised plan, counselling for eight CET-linked programmes — with engineering courses at the forefront — will proceed independently. Admissions to medical, dental, and AYUSH courses will only be taken up after the NEET process concludes.

The NEET re-examination is now scheduled for June 21, with results expected only by late July or August, making a simultaneous process impractical.

Objections to the provisional keys were accepted online without any fee until 5 pm on April 30. Candidates were required to upload supporting textual proof, specifying the exact subject, version code, and question number during submission.

Candidates will be allowed to participate in three rounds of counselling across engineering, medical, dental, and AYUSH. Those from engineering who switch to a medical seat later through NEET will be refunded their fees. Private colleges have also been guided to do the same. 

Candidates could not manually enter their marks or submit physical mark sheet copies to the KEA. To complete the mandatory verification step, students were required to first log in to DigiLocker, download their Class 12 marksheet, and authorize KEA's portal retrieval.

Executive Director H Prasanna IAS advised that CBSE, ISC, and other state board students use a dedicated link on the KEA portal. This setup automatically fetched Class 12 scores directly through DigiLocker permissions to calculate final merit ranks.

The final KCET 2026 rank list relies on a 50-50 weightage system. KEA calculates rankings by giving equal importance to the marks scored in physics, chemistry, and mathematics across both the entrance exam and the qualifying board examinations.

Provisional answer keys for all 16 paper sets were released in late April. Students raised objections without any fee until April 30, 2026, by simply completing an online form on the official website before the deadline.

Following recent NEET question paper leaks, Higher Education Minister MC Sudhakar announced that KEA will proceed independently with KCET results and counselling. This decision was finalized after meetings with private college representatives and medical education department leaders. Earlier the counselling for NEET and KCET was carried out parallely. 

On May 19, KEA directed CBSE, CISCE, and other state board students to upload their Class 12 marks. The portal integrated with DigiLocker, allowing the system to automatically fetch student marks to streamline the final result calculation process.

For the KCET 2026 exams, around 3.3 lakh students had registered. More data on students who appeared and passed the exam is expected to be released by KEA with the result announcement.

The result will be declared on the official KEA website at cetonline.karnataka.gov.in. Once the result is out, students can visit the portal to download their scorecard. 

KCET 2026 was held from April 22 to April 24. On the first day of KEA UGCET exams, Kannada language exam was held. Physics and chemistry tests were conducted on April 23 and on April 24, maths and biology papers were held.
