The Indian Institute of Management Indore (IIM Indore) has released the admission criteria for its flagship two-year postgraduate programme (PGP) for the 2026-28 batch. The institute will follow a three-stage selection process based on CAT 2025 scores – academic performance in Classes 10 and 12, work experience, and performance in the personal interview (PI).

As per the policy, candidates must appear for CAT 2025 and meet the minimum sectional and overall percentile cut-offs to be eligible for consideration.

For candidates belonging to the General and EWS categories, the minimum overall cut-off has been set at 90 percentile, with 80 percentile required in each section. For NC-OBC candidates, the overall cut-off is 80 percentile, while SC, ST, and PwD candidates will require 60, 45 and 45 percentile, respectively to be considered qualified.

At the shortlisting stage, IIM Indore has continued its heavy emphasis on Class 12 performance, which carries a 25 per cent weightage, compared to 10 per cent for Class 10.

CAT sectional scores together account for 55 per cent weightage in the composite score used for shortlisting. Work experience carries a small weightage of three per cent, while the diversity factor adds another seven marks.

Candidates shortlisted for the interview will be informed in January 2026. Interviews will be conducted in offline mode across seven cities – Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Indore, Kolkata, and Mumbai. The interview may also be held online depending on circumstances, an IIM Indore statement said.

For the final selection, the personal interview becomes the single most significant component, carrying 45 per cent weightage in the final composite score. CAT sectional scores together contribute 40 per cent, while Class 10 and 12 marks carry five per cent each. A diversity factor of five marks is also included at this stage.

IIM Indore has emphasised that merely meeting eligibility or cut-offs does not guarantee a call. Candidates must also meet the minimum required performance in each PI parameter; failing this will lead to disqualification.

The institute will also follow the Government of India’s reservation policy: 27% seats for NC-OBC, 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST, up to 10% for EWS, and 5% for PwD candidates. However, all candidates, irrespective of category, must meet the minimum performance standards set by the institute.

Candidates who had their Class 10 or 12 scores affected due to COVID-19 board evaluation policies will have their score weightages redistributed proportionally among other components like CAT sectional scores and available board marks.

The institute has also said that any changes in government or institutional directives may modify the admission process.
