HPBOSE Class 10 results 2016: The Himachal Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (HPBOSE), Dharamshala will announce the results of the Class 10 examinations on May 12, that is, today. The examination was held from March 5 to March 19.

This year, girls have bagged the top three slots at the Himachal Board exams with Akshima Thakur at the top position scoring 98.57 per cent. The second position is jointly shared by Lakita Khidtta and Ira Sharma (98.29 per cent).

The Education Board of Himachal was established in 1969 according the guidelines of the Himachal Pradesh Act No. 14 of 1968. The Board conducts yearly examinations at the senior and the higher secondary examination levels every year.

The headquarters of the Board were originally located in Shimla but in 1983 were shifted to Dharamshala. It has 438 members of staff. The HP Education Board is responsible for ensuring quality of school education in the state by regulating examinations, prescribing syllabus and text books, etc.

The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education, Dharamshala came into existence in 1969 as per Himachal Pradesh Act No. 14 of 1968 with its head-quarter at Shimla later shifted to Dharamshala in January 1983. The Board started with a staff of 34 officials which has subsequently increased to 438.
