GD Goenka University’s the School of Communication has hosted the first International digital media conference on April 5-6. The theme of the conference was how mobile technology is redefining the way media creates and distributes content.
The two-day international conference was inaugurated by Dr Stephen Quinn, Founder Principal, Mojo Media Insights, Brighton, UK, Mr Rajesh Kalra, Chief Editor, Times Group Digital, and Prof. (Dr.) Deependra Kumar Jha, Pro Vice Chancellor, G D Goenka University.
Dr Stephen Quinn said “The way we consume content is constantly evolving at an amazing speed with multiple screens and upcoming revolutionary mobile technologies. India is a young nation and we have seen how youth here, who are at the center of this communication revolution, is driving and using social media for social betterment. I am very excited to be part of this conference and believe it is a great opportunity for students to engage with media leaders who are reinventing the face of media.”
Prof Deependra Kumar Jha, PRO Vice-Chancellor, GD Goenka University, said, “Through this conference, we aim to initiate conversation among our students about how media is changing and impacting the way we live, think, and go about our daily life.”
Some of the eminent speakers at the conference were Sanjay Mehra (Head, Multimedia, ANI), R Sridharan (co-founder NYUSU.in and former managing editor ET Now ), Nandagopal Rajan (Editor, New Media, Indian Express Online) and so on.
The School of Communication is currently offering Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) and Master of Arts (M.A.) in Journalism & Mass Communication, Master of Arts (M.A.) in Social Media and Media Management, Post-graduate Diploma in Event Management and Social Media Marketing.
