A parenting partner, daycares or aftercare centers are the initial talent hunters in child’s life. Any parent would want best for their children in life and modern daycares are setting the trend at their best.
These centres’ follow a high scope curriculum approach for children in order to help them develop multiple intelligences through the practice of learning by doing. There are many things the children will like, there are bound to be few activities they do not prefer much, however, the process of learning will enrich the child’s mind.
From singing to dancing, playing games to spotting alphabets and colours, all these activities are a part of a child’s learning skills and developing stage.
A selective curriculum specially created to add to a child’s routine is where children engage themselves in “choice time”, a time they choose to do what they wish to, the classroom is assured to be well-equipped in providing each child range of activities, games to perform in choice time.
Large group activities and small group activities wherein logical reasoning, language and communication, initiative, self-help, problem-solving, creative arts, physical development are covered is the goal of day-care centers as these very routine activities help them develop skills to learn and not appear as if they were forced to learn.
Finding talent in toddlers is not as easy as it may appear. They might have countless mood swings, one activity might make them happy today, but just not be a part of their interest tomorrow.
Having experienced and talented teachers at day-cares who understand child psychology is the greatest gift at a day-care since they actively help a child hone new skills and make the entire process fun for him/her so that they do not cease to let go of an activity.
The types of activities modern aftercare centres are introducing for kids:
Dancing and singing classes
Drama and skit acting
Swimming and outdoor games
Athletics and sports
Art and craft classes that include painting, pottery-making, etc
Music lesson and teaching musical instruments
Introducing such activity in a child’s life can be helpful in a great way. He/she will be more involved in constructive activities, would learn how to concentrate and explore things, levels of interaction with other children will increase and will add to building confidence.
It is just a matter of time, chances are the activities a day-care introduces the child with might turn into lifelong passions or even professions.
A day-care adds a lot to social and relationship skills which result in high self-esteem and a sense of accomplishment in a child.
