CUET UG Admit Card 2022 Updates: Hall tickets released for Phase 4 students; result expected on September 7

CUET Admit Card 2022 Updates: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued the fresh admit cards for the phase four candidates who have their exams scheduled between August 17 and 20, UGC Chairman Jagadesh Kumar told indianexpress.comThe admit cards can be downloaded from the official CUET website — cuet.samarth.ac.in.

According to the government data shared today, a total of 3.72 lakh candidates will be sitting for the exam in the fourth phase which will be conducted on August 17, 18 and 20. However, nearly 11,000 candidates from this phase have been moved to Phase 6 (August 24 to 30) in order to accommodate their city preferences. For these 11,000 candidates, the NTA has postponed the exam to August 30 in order to avoid travel-related problems. In addition to phase four, candidates who have their exams in phase five and six will also today get information about their dates and cities in which they are supposed to take the exam.

CUET UG 2022 result expected on September 7

The NTA is "aiming" to announce the results of the CUET-UG 2022 ecam around September 7. "The number of subject papers is huge for CUET-UG. We will try to finish the evaluation and announce the results by September 7. We are considering September 10 as our outer limit," the NTA official told The Indian Express. Read more here

UGC Chief wants CUET to be held twice a year

"After the introduction of CUET, we now have three major entrance examinations in the country — NEET, JEE and CUET — and most students take at least two of these examinations, and many may even write all three. In NEET, you have Biology, Physics and Chemistry, and in JEE you have Maths, Physics and Chemistry. So, two subjects are anyway common there and the same subjects are also used in CUET for admission in various universities. So, why should we subject the students to multiple entrance examinations,” he told indianexpress.com.

CUET UG 2022: Phase-wise distribution of candidates

A total of 2.49 lakh candidates appeared for CUET-UG in the first phase, 1.91 lakh were in the second phase and 1.91 lakh in the third phase.

For the fourth phase, 3.72 lakh candidates are scheduled to appear for the exam.  Phase 5 will have 2.01 lakh candidates take the exam on August 21, 22, and 23.

Additionally, Phase 6, which was originally scheduled to end on August 28, will now be held on August 24, 25, 26 and 30, and expects attendance of 2.86 lakh candidates.

What about Phase II students' CUET exam?

Students who couldn’t take the test during the second phase of exam (which was conducted on August 4, 5 and 6) due to technical problems will be allowed to appear in Phase 6 (from August 24 to 30). While these students will be informed about their cities and fresh exam dates today, their admit cards will be released on August 20.

CUET UG 2022: NTA deploys 300 technical observers

According to NTA sources, about 300 technical observers will be deployed during the conduct of the fourth phase of the exam on August 17, 18 and 20. CUET UG delay: JNU faculty unhappy with NTA's new entrance exam

The Jawaharlal Nehru University Teachers Association (JNUTA) have expressed displeasure over the delay in CUET exams and have demanded that JNU should restore its time-tested admission procedure instead of relying on the National Testing Agency. “The GBM demands that the university withdraw from the agreement with the NTA and immediately restore JNU’s own time-tested admission procedures and institutional structures such as the Standing Committee on Admissions,” it added.

Delhi University's admission process to be delayed due to CUET UG 2022 postponement

The admission process for Delhi University’s undergraduate courses is likely to be delayed by "at least a week" due to the extension of the CUET-UG schedule following exam cancellation at several centres last week because of technical glitches. 

"The admission process is expected to stretch longer by a week as CUET was rescheduled. The entire admission process will take over a month," said a senior Delhi University official. Read full report here

Confused about CUET UG 2022 exam on August 12? The Indian Express answers

The CUET examination which had been scheduled for August 4 to 6 had been postponed because of technical issues to August 12 to 14.

Later, it issued another notice stating that 15,811 candidates had approached it requesting a date other than August 12 to 14, and that many students had approached it requesting that their exams not be scheduled between 12 to 14 because of festivals during the period.

The notice stated that "considering the above requests, it has been decided that in place of 12 to 14 August 2022, the CUET (UG) – 2022 examination for all these candidates will now be conducted between 24 to 28 August 2022, and fresh Admit Card will be issued well before the date of Examination." Read full report here

City intimation slip for Phase 5 and 6 students to be released today

The UGC chief says that some of the candidates who were originally scheduled to take the examination in Phase 3 i.e. August 07, 08, and 10, have been informed through their admit cards about the new dates (between August 21, 22, and 23). Their admit cards mentioning the centres of examination will be released on August 17. However, information about their dates and cities in which they are supposed to take the exam will be released today.

Similarly, students who couldn’t take the test during the second phase of exam (which was conducted on August 4, 5 and 6) due to technical problems will be allowed to appear in Phase 6 (from August 24 to 30). While these students will be informed about their cities and fresh exam dates today, their admit cards will be released on August 20.

NTA to make new exam centres for CUET

The NTA faced a lot of heat for not being able to conduct the CUET-UG 2022 phase two exam properly at several exam centres due to technical snags. However, the UGC chairman said that the NTA has learnt from the August 4 episode and has since rectified its errors at any and every exam centre, saying "if you look at the exams cinducted on the kater dates, the exams were conducted with minimum or no problems".

In addition to this, the NTA will also now set up specific exam centres across the country which will be well equipped with the computers and other requirements, and will be managed by the NTA too. These NTA exam centres will be used specifically for such exams, along with other established centres.

“These centres can be later used as training centres, when the NTA is not conducting any exam in them and utilise the space,” he said.

CUET Admit Card 2022 Updates: Phase 5 and 6 students will also be provided information about their  dates and cities in which they are supposed to take the exam. The same is available at cuet.samarth.ac.in. Phase 4 students will get their admit crads in the late hours of August 13 or early hours of August 14.
