The Centre is planning to set up an Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Jammu and Kashmir and the state government has been requested to identify suitable land for this purpose, said the government in Lok Sabha on Monday.

“The Union Government has proposed to establish an Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Jammu and Kashmir. The state government of J&K have been requested to identify suitable land for the purpose,” Irani said in her reply.

Responding to another question, Irani said that all IITs and IIMs are operating in proper buildings though nine IITs and 13 IIMs are functioning from temporary campuses.
