
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced the results of class 12 examinations on Saturday, May 21. A total of 1,065,179 candidates were registered for the 2016 board examinations. A notification released by the CBSE said, the pass percentage of 2016 is 83.05 per cent as compared to 82 per cent last year.
Overall pass percentage of Thiruvananthapuram region in Kerala is highest in the country with 97.61 per cent.
This is the second consecutive year when the Central Board of Secondary Education has declared results for all ten regions on the same day.

The notification also mentioned that the performance of girls have been better than boys. Pass percentage of girls is 88.58 per cent whereas pass percentage of boys is 78.85 per cent.

The CBSE class 12 exams started from March 1, 2016 and concluded on April 22.

Students can access their results on three websites: cbseresults.nic.in, results.nic.in and cbse.nic.in. Earlier, a CBSE notification had said that the results would be announced at 12 noon, however, it was declared at around 10. 45 am.
