CBSE class 10th and 12th board exams have begun from today and will end on March 28 and April 22, respectively.
This year, over 25 lakh students has registered for the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) exams, around 6.3 per cent more than last year’s total.
According to the data provided by CBSE, a total of 14,99,122 candidates has registered for the class 10th (both Board-based and school-based) exams as against 13,73,853 in 2015.
Similarly for class 12th Boards, 10,67,900 candidates have registered as against 10,40,368 in 2015.
Delhi (including foreign schools) and Panchkula have registered the highest number of candidates with Delhi on 2.9 lakh for class X and 2.7 lakh for class 12th board. Panchkula registered 2.2 lakh for class 10th and 1.7 for class 12th.
CBSE has also started counselling for students and parents. This year 76 principals, trained counsellors and psychologists will participate in tele-counselling to address exam-related psychological problems of the students.
