The process of selling forms for admission to Class XI at city government schools concluded Monday. While a total of 16,955 forms were sold by the UT Education Department, around 15,364 applications have been submitted so far for the 13,000 seats across the 40 senior secondary government schools in the city.
With the procedure of submission of forms along with choice of schools and streams completed, the UT Education Department will now display the Common Merit List on its official website on June 27, after the forms are processed.
The list indicating particulars of the allotted schools and streams will then be released on June 30. As per the Common Admission Schedule, classes for Class XI in city government schools will commence on July 4, after the submission of fees.
Admissions to government schools in the city will be conducted on the basis of merit. As the UT Education Department has a policy for not denying admission to any student, hence, students will be allotted schools and courses on the basis of their score in CBSE Class X examinations only.
