Delhi Police have arrested a 55-year-old pulmonologist for allegedly raping a patient at his clinic in South-East Delhi’s Lajpat Nagar area. The accused, identified as Sushil Munjal, allegedly sexually assaulted the 24-year-old patient on September 2 at his Lajpat Nagar clinic run by him. He was arrested Saturday after the victim informed police about the incident, said a senior police officer.

According to police, the victim is a resident of Karol Bagh and was reportedly undergoing treatment for chest infection at the clinic. “The victim alleges that the doctor raped her there after his wife had left,” the officer added.

After raping her, the doctor allegedly threatened her and asked her not to disclose the incident to anyone, police said. The victim then made a PCR call from the clinic. The medical examination of the victim confirmed rape and after an initial investigation, the doctor was arrested.
