Two brothers were shot allegedly by a man in his early twenties in Outer Delhi’s Samaypur Badli area on Sunday afternoon. One of the brothers died in hospital. Police suspect it to be a case of personal rivalry.
According to police, Vipin (18) and his cousin Ravinder (24), were shot at by the assailant around 1.30 pm in MCD colony, Samaypur Badli area. Both ran a meat shop.
“The assailant, an acquaintance of the two, rode up to the meat shop on his two-wheeler and opened fire. Vipin, who took a bullet in the chest, collapsed while Ravinder was injured in the abdomen. The assailant fled before residents and passersby could give chase. A PCR call was made and a police team rushed to the spot. Both youths were rushed to hospital where doctors said Vipin’s condition was critical. He succumbed to injuries later in the day,” said a senior officer.
Police said a case of attempt to murder, registered earlier, has now been converted to murder. The accused was identified after police took down the statements of eyewitnesses.
