Actor Swara Bhasker, too, reached the Kerala House and had a meeting with Chennithala
For once, Malayalam was perhaps drowned out by Marathi at the Kerala House in Delhi on Wednesday. Ramesh Chennithala, the Congress in-charge of Maharashtra, was staying there and he had a steady stream of visitors — ticket hopefuls and their supporters from the state. But among the visitors, one person stood out.
Actor Swara Bhasker, too, reached the Kerala House and had a meeting with Chennithala. The buzz was that she expressed her interest to contest the Lok Sabha elections from Mumbai North-Central, the seat Priya Dutt had earlier represented.
Future-Ready
In the recent brainstorming session on Viksit Bharat 2047 vision, PM Narendra Modi was understood to have taken a dig at the Indian bureaucracy. At the session, which saw presentations on a range of identified sectors by secretaries and top government officials, the PM is understood to have said that 19th century bureaucracy won’t work in the 21st century.
A detailed action plan for the next five years was discussed. The PM had highlighted the point with secretaries in various ways in past meetings too.
Back To JNU
The Samajwadi Party (SP) has allowed its student wing—Samajwadi Chhatra Sabha—to contest the March 22 student union elections at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Delhi, after a gap of nine years. The wing had last contested the JNU polls in 2015 when SP president Akhilesh Yadav was the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh. SP’s student wing is contesting for the posts of president and councillor and has also started exercise to set up its units in Delhi University and Jamia Millia Islamia.
