Members of the Opposition in the parliamentary committee on Home Affairs were not on the same page during a meeting on Wednesday. It is learnt that some members of the Opposition wanted a discussion on the Delhi blast and the “intelligence failure”, while others wanted to stick to the pre-decided agenda for the meeting. However, no discussion on the topic happened on Wednesday, but panel Chairman (BJP MP) Radha Mohan Das Agrawal is learnt to have assured the members that a discussion on terrorism can be held in the future. But that didn’t go well with a section of the Opposition members who were adamant on a discussion, it is learnt.

Pointed reminder

Last month Delhi Police headquarters had asked all the Special Commissioner of Police (CPs) to send in their ideas to improve branding and public perception of the force. When the suggestions didn’t reach by the deadline, a polite yet pointed reminder was sent last week by the Delhi Police spokesperson. The reminder also mentioned that the suggestions were required urgently.
