Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann called on Union Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Thursday to discuss implementation of flagship schemes in his state. According to sources, Mann urged Puri to fix the Centre-state funding ratio at 50:50 for larger cities in AMRUT 2.0, against the existing formula of 33% and 67%, respectively. The CM was told that the scheme was for all states and the formula cannot be altered. Second Thoughts
Even as Harayana BJP leaders as well as those involved with the state party functioning were told to tow the government position in case JJP walks out of the alliance, there seems to be some sort of rethinking in the BJP over its ties with the Dushyant Chautala-led party. Sources said the BJP was forced to reach out to independent and other MLAs following “complaints” against the JJP from the state leaders. After the earlier signals to prepare for a solo run in the state, the latest direction from a top leader is not to “worsen” the ties with its Haryana ally till a final decision is made on the partnership.
