A dinner hosted by BJP president J P Nadda in the Capital for those who participated in the Bihar election campaign and helped the party register a landslide win in the state saw Union Home Minister Amit Shah give tips on election campaign work to party workers, turning the evening into a “highly productive session”, said BJP insiders. Shah spoke about how the workers should keep a low profile, but give full support to the party. “Jahan kam, vahan hum,” he is learnt to have told the workers. During his 25-minute-long speech, many workers were seen looking for paper and pen to jot down the points, said a party leader who was present at the dinner.
Party Plan
Ahead of the Winter Session of Parliament, the BJP top leadership is likely to get into a huddle over the weekend and initiate steps for the election of the party’s national president, which has been pending since last year. According to sources, the senior BJP leaders are likely to meet at the party’s DDU Marg headquarters following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s return to the Capital on Sunday. If all goes as planned, the meeting is also likely to take up organisational changes at the national level, besides election of Uttar Pradesh and Haryana unit presidents.
