Mahatma photo intact when SFI activists were removed from Rahul office: Pinarayi Vijayan

Replying to a submission moved by CPI(M) legislator V Joy in this regard, Vijayan said the police had removed all SFI activists who had stormed into the Wayanad MP’s office at 3.54 pm on June 24.

Stating that police are investigating the culprits behind the act of throwing a picture frame of the Mahatma, hung on a wall of Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s office in Wayanad, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Monday said this occurred after SFI activists who allegedly vandalised Rahul’s office were removed from the site.

Replying to a submission moved by CPI(M) legislator V Joy in this regard, Vijayan said the police had removed all SFI activists who had stormed into the Wayanad MP’s office at 3.54 pm on June 24. When a police photographer clicked images of the crime scene, the Mahatma’s picture was found intact on the wall, he said.

After the SFI workers were removed from the office, Congress activists had been in the office, Vijayan pointed out.

Later, in the evening, when the police photographer photographed the crime scene again, Gandhiji‘s photograph was found lying on the floor in a damaged condition, the CM said.

After some SFI activists vandalised Rahul’s office, a controversy had emerged over Gandhiji’s picture being pulled down from the wall. While CPI(M) had blamed Congress activists, the Congress leadership had always evaded questions on it.
